Usage Guidelines

1. Preparation

  • Heat clean edible oil in a deep frying pan or kadai to about 180–190°C (medium-high heat).
  • Test oil readiness by dropping a small piece—if it rises and puffs immediately, it’s ready.

2. Frying

Slide the minapa appalam gently into hot oil.

Fry for a few seconds only until it puffs up completely.

Remove and drain excess oil on absorbent paper.

3. Serving

  • Serve hot and crisp as an accompaniment to rice meals, snacks, or festive dishes.
  • Optional: Sprinkle a pinch of salt, pepper, or chili powder for extra flavor.

 

Storage Guidelines

1. Before Frying

  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight.
  • Once opened, keep in an airtight container to retain crispness and avoid moisture absorption.

2. After Frying

  • Best consumed immediately for maximum crispness.
  • If needed, store cooled fried appalams in an airtight container and use within 1–2 days.

3. Shelf Life

  • Follow the “Best Before” date on the pack.
  • Avoid use if the product has become damp, discolored, or has an off odor.
